Biografie:

 

Magdalena Serban, nascuta la 13 septembrie 1932 la Bucuresti, a absolvit  facultatea de Geologie si Geografie in 1955.

In 1953 se casatoreste cu Dumitru IORDAN, iar in iunie 1957 se nasc gemenii Costi si Adi.

Lucreaza dupa terminerea facultatii la Institul de Constructii si apoi la Universitatea Bucuresti Catedra de Geologie ca laborant si preparator de laborator sub tutela profesorului Nicolae Oncescu..

Incepind cu anul 1965 intra ca geolog principal la Institutul de Geologie si Geofizica din Bucuresti ( fostul Institut Geologic) unde va continua o lunga si fructuoasa cariera pina la pensionare in 1987. 

Trecind prin toate gradele de promotie a unui cercetator stiintific, Magdalena devine doctor in geologie in august 1977, prin teza sa sustinuta la Iasi.

Prin numeroasele lucrari stiintifice Magdalena este unul din putinii specialisti romani in domeniul graptolitilor si brachiopodelor, recunoscuta pe plan international de numerosi cercetatori straini.

Serban Magdalena, born on 13 September 1932 in Bucharest, graduated from the Faculty of Geology and Geography in 1955.

In 1953 married with Dumitru IORDAN and in June 1957 are born twins Costi and Adi.

First works was in the Institute of Construction and then in the University of Bucharest, Department of Geology, as a laboratory assistant under the supervision of Professor Nicolae Oncescu.

Since 1965, it comes as principal geologist at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics in Bucharest where she will continue a long and fruitful career until retirement in 1987.

Passing through all ranks of promotion of a scientific researcher, Magdalena gets PhD in geology in August 1977, the sentence was sustained in Iasi.

Through numerous scientific publications, Magdalena is one of the few specialists in Romanian in graptolites and brachiopods, internationally recognized by many foreign researchers.
